Science copywriting services
A one-off, or you wanna go steady?
Need a one-off piece of work? No problem, I can help with content strategy, tone of voice, messaging, articles, landing pages, ads, sales copy, social posts or turning a campaign that currently looks like 6 Word docs, 3 PDFs, one webinar transcript and 57 comments from 11 stakeholders into something that actually makes sense.
But if you want regular support, you can also book me on a monthly retainer.
That gives you flexible access to writing, editing, messaging, content planning, strategy and general copy-brain-for-hire support. Useful when you need someone who can write the thing, question the thing, tidy the thing, or politely ask why the thing exists in the first place.

Great for light support.
This might cover reviewing or editing copy, writing short social posts, tweaking a small section of webcopy, helping with messaging or tackling smaller ad hoc writing jobs.
You could probably squeeze a small blog in here, provided it doesn’t require wrestling a literature review into submission.
-
A better option if you want one strong blog or article each month, or a mix of shorter content, editing and social support.
This also works well if you need someone to help shape ideas before they become drafts. For example, turning rough subject-matter expert notes into a sensible article angle, reviewing campaign messages or helping decide what content is worth making in the first place.

Now we’re getting serious.
This is for regular monthly support across writing, editing, messaging and content planning. It could cover one meatier technical article plus supporting social or email copy, or a broader mix of blogs, web copy, campaign content and copy review.
It also gives us more room for thinking. I don’t mean endless brainstorming things with Post-it notes, but actual useful thinking: what are we saying, who are we saying it to, what evidence do we have and why should anyone care?
-
A solid monthly retainer for clients who need regular content and copy support without hiring someone in-house.
This could cover multiple blogs or articles, campaign copy, sales materials, website updates, email copy, editing, messaging work and content planning.
It also works well as weekly support: one day each week, averaged across the month, so you get regular access without the invoice changing every time the calendar decides to include five Tuesdays.

The big one.
This is for teams that need regular support across content, copy, messaging and strategy. It gives you roughly two days per week, which can be used for planned content production, campaign development, webcopy, editing, positioning, content strategy, sales materials, stakeholder wrangling and general “Bill, can you just make this better?” support.
It is the closest thing to having a senior science writer/copywriter in the team without actually hiring one.
Useful if you have a busy marketing team, multiple balls in the air– erm, I mean, projects running at once or a lot of technical material that needs turning into clear, useful, commercially relevant copy.
“How does this work?” Don’t worry, it’s easy. Usually, I’ll set up a simple shared Trello board so we can manage briefs, source material, priorities, review status and all that fun stuff in one place rather than running everything through email table tennis. Each request from you would have a short brief, and then you simply drop whichever piece you want prioritised into the ‘Working’ column that month/week. Easy peasy.
Cancel whenever you like; you’ll just need to pay up to the end of that month.
